Once upon a time, in the small town of Gjakova, there was a little girl called Feride. She was kind, brave, and loved helping people - even as a child. But her country had been through a very sad and scary time where lots of people were hurt.

Feride grew up and became a doctor because she liked helping people so much. But soon she saw that some people were hurt in their hearts. She met with women and children who had gone through bad things but did not want to talk about it. She listened to them and told them that their stories matter.

One day she came up with an amazing idea! To create a safe space where hurt people could be seen and heard, a place where they could start to feel better.

In the beginning it was hard because the hurt people did not want to talk. But she did not give up! She worked day and night to help doctors and teachers to help the hurt people. Feride even helped change the law so what happened would never happen again!

Some time later, Feride was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, because the whole world saw how kind she was and how she had changed peoples lives.

Today Feride still helps these hurt people, she is really happy when they come to her to get better. She reminds us all that no one should be alone with their pain.

And to every little girl who dreams of making the world better, Feride says:

"You don’t have to be big to be brave. You just have to care - and never stop."
